The country has secured its spots in both League of Legends and Valorant for the highly anticipated, inaugural Esports Nations Cup (ENC) 2026. Scheduled to run from November 2 to November 29, 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the groundbreaking tournament will bring together national teams to battle across 16 different gaming titles for a massive $20 million total prize pool.
Unlike traditional club-based tournaments, the ENC pits players competing strictly under their national flags—and the Philippines is already shaping up to be a serious contender.
The Path to Riyadh
The two tactical PC titles saw different, yet equally impressive, qualification routes for the Filipino squads:
- League of Legends: In a grueling regional battle, the Filipino LoL squad clutched up when it mattered most, securing one of only two coveted slots allocated for the highly competitive Southeast Asia and Oceania region.
- Valorant: The Philippine Valorant team skipped the qualifying stress entirely, earning a direct invitation straight to the main stage. The tournament organizers extended the invite based on the country’s blistering world rankings and dominant performances in recent global circuits.
Stars Aligning for the Roster
While some community lineups are still being locked in, the talent pool representing the flag is stacked with world-class veterans. In Valorant, the direct-invite roster features top-tier sharpshooters from powerhouse organizations, including Paper Rex’s Adrian Jiggs “Invy” Reyes and Team Secret’s Jhian “Zeus” Vega, all under the tactical guidance of Coach Jose “Rbtx” Jamir.
