NBA PLAYOFFS ┃ Wembanyama dominates as Spurs rout Thunder, even WCF to 2 wins apiece

Victor Wembanyama ensured the San Antonio Spurs wouldn’t head back to Oklahoma City in a hole. The sophomore phenom put on a two-way clinic on Sunday, dropping 33 points to propel San Antonio to a dominant 103-82 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, leveling their Western Conference first-round matchup at two games apiece.

The Thunder simply had no answers for Wembanyama, who anchored the Spurs on both ends of the floor. San Antonio’s suffocating defense completely stalled Oklahoma City’s offense, frustrating the Thunder into highly inefficient shooting possessions all night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander fought through heavy resistance to lead OKC, but his supporting cast failed to find a rhythm against the Spurs’ length.

With the blowout victory, San Antonio has officially turned the matchup into a best-of-three sprint. If the Thunder hope to regain control of the series, they must find a quick answer to neutralize Wemby before a pivotal Game 5 tips off in Oklahoma City.
